Georgian Coalport Porcelain Coffee Can Pattern 136 c.1815

Georgian Coalport Porcelain Coffee Can Pattern 136 c.1815

Code: FA1520

SOLD

Pretty Coalport coffee can decorated in pattern number 136 with an imari Japan type design in a kakiemon palette with a bright turquoise and apple green enamel alongside an orange red and underglaze mazarine blue. Ornate gilt decoration fills the background, edges the panels and decorates the "mon" type flowers. Unmarked, c.1815.

Reference Coalport & Coalbrookdale Porcelain, Godden, plate 55 for a tea set in this pattern.

It measures 6cm (2 3/8") high and 7cm (2 3/4") rim to rim.

In good condition: a hairline across the base of the handle and a nick inside the edge of the rim. Inner walls are crazed and there is quite a bit of kiln dust spotting inside the base. Some handling wear to the gilt.
