A fine Coalport porcelain tea cup and saucer in the Pembroke shape with gadrooned borders and painted in pattern number 2/162 with a rich mazarine blue ground with mirror and vase shaped reserves painted with lemon yellow enamel edges and beautifully painted garden flowers including a spray in the centre of the cup. Lots of ornate gilt embellishment and a stylised gilt vine running inside the cup rim. Both pieces marked with pattern number 2/162. c.1827.
The cup measures 5cm (1 15/16") high and 9cm (3 8/16") rim to rim. The saucer measures 14.4cm (5 5/8") wide and 2cm (3/4") high.
Condition is very good: there has been a small filled chip on the back of the saucer but no other damage or repair and very minor handling wear.
