19th Century Vienna Porcelain Chocolate Cup & Cover With Stand

Lovely Vienna chocolate cup and cover with saucer / stand, the body with a mainly burgundy, yellow and pale blue ground with touches of chocolate and iron red. The cup, finely painted with a central classical scene of two maidens gently poking a sleeping Cupid with a stick against a landscape with raised gilded arcs frame the scene. Ornate gilded detailing to the rest of the pieces is also picked out with raised gilding and white jewels.

Marked to the base with the beehive / bindenschild mark.

The cup measures 9cm (3 1/2") with the cover on, 6.2cm (2 3/8") without. It measures with cover on 9cm (3 1/2") wide including handle and 6.7cm (2 5/8") wide across the cover. The saucer measures 12.7cm (5") wide and 2.9cm (1 1/8") high.

Condition is very good with no damage or restoration. Light surface wear, no loss to the white jewels, enameling very good, a little wear to the gilding in places against the burgundy ground and to the knop and handle.
