Lovely Georgian silver cream jug by Philip Goddard of round bellied form with an ornate scrolled handle with feather thumb rest, scalloped rim and 3 dainty splayed feet. Hallmarked for London and with lion passant and maker's mark.
The marks are a little rubbed but legible bar the date letter but this maker's mark was only registered between 1744 and 1747 so it can be dated to then. There are engraved initials B D and M to the base and a monogram to the front.
It measures 10cm (3 7/8") high and 10.2cm (4") handle to spout and weighs 79g/2.5ozt.
