Attractive pair of 18th century George III silver sugar tongs with cast acorns to form the ends. Bright cut engraved decoration along the arms and feathered edging. The end has a small monogram MB.
Hallmarked inside the acorns with the head of George III, the lion passant mark and makers mark for Samuel Godbehere & Edward Wigan, c.1790.
They measure 14cm (5 1/2") long, 4.5 (1 3/4") wide and 1.5cm (1/2") deep. They weigh 31g/1.0ozt.
Condition is very good with minimal surface wear.
