Early George III Silver Pedestal Cream Jug 1763

Early George III Silver Pedestal Cream Jug 1763

Code: FA0213

SOLD

Lovely little early George III silver pedestal cream jug with typical later embossed and engraved floral decoration. A nice raised open scrolled handle with feather detail to the thumb rest and a pretty scalloped rim, set up on a stepped collet foot. Good quality later chasing and nicely engraved shaped handle terminal.

Hallmarked for London 1763, maker's mark rubbed but think they are for IS or TS in separate circles which I cannot identify so far.

It measures 4 1/4" high 3 3/8" spout to handle and 2 /1/2" wide across the body. It weighs 74g/2.4ozt.

Condition is very good with no damage and, bar the hallmarks, little surface wear. The cartouche to the front is unengraved.
