Stunning squared baluster Japanese cloisonné vase finely decorated with panels of salmon and lemon ground with a fabulous hoo-oo bird on one side and a pair of butterflies surrounded by flowers on the other. The 2 filler sections are a reddish brown with oriental design roundels. The shoulders are panels of salmon and goldstone smothered in flowers and the neck and around the base is a pale blue ground also with flowers. Beaded and floral borders separated all the panels. Almost every colour features: shades of blue, pink purple, red, yellow, green, grey, black and white. The inside is the classic blue.
It measures 6" and 3 3/4" wide.
Condition is very good. There is a very slight dent to the base, a slight flattening. No other damage or losses to the enamel can see. There are some slightly darker areas on the salmon ground which may or not be original, please see the close up photos.
