A striking early Coalport tea cup and saucer of bute shape with faceted walls decorated with a stylised gilt pattern. Unmarked, c.1810.

The cup measures 5.8cm (2 1/4") high and 8.3cm (3 1/4") rim to rim. The saucer measures 14.4cm (5 5/8") wide and 3cm (1 3/16") high.
The saucer has a small chip to the rim and a tight hairline across the base of the cup handle. No other damage or repair and only minor handling wear. The saucer is finely crazed.
