A fine early 19th century Coalport porcelain cup and saucer set in the "No. 7" shape, with moulded shaped rims and tightly scrolled, spurred handles with acanthus leaf moulded thumb rests. Vibrantly decorated with a cranberry pink enamel ground with yellow enamel edged reserves shaped as seashells and scrolls and further seashells set in between. The reserved areas are very well painted with naturalistic vignettes of fruit and blossom, apples, pears, peaches, strawberries and cherries against a blue washed background and with a flower to the centre of each piece. Fine gilt detailing to the reserve edges, defining the shells and picking out the moulded decoration around the rims and handles and a scrolling vine outside both the cups. The saucer marked with pattern number 2/597, c.1830.

The tea cup measures 5.5cm (2 1/8") high to the rim and 10.5cm (4 1/8") rim to rim, the coffee cup is 6.3cm (2 1/2") high to the rim and 8.1cm (3 3/16") rim to rim. The saucer measures 14.5cm (5 11/16") wide and 2.5cm (1") high.

In excellent condition with no damage or repair and very minor handling wear, just a very small amount of wear to the gilt on the saucer rim and some minor stacking wear to the pink enamel in the centre of the saucer.
