Pretty and practical Victorian Scottish silver pedestal bowl with a lovely goblet type shape and set on a curved stepped collet foot. Chased decoration runs around the bowl with arabesques creating a framed lower border and 2 cartouche reserves on opposing sides. Above these fine embossed and engraved decoration of roses, garden flowers and foliage, fans and circles set against a textured engraved background. One reserve is engraved with a handsome monogram; the other is vacant.
Hallmarked for Edinburgh 1882/1883 makers Mackay & Chisholm.
It measures 4 1/8" high and 5 1/8" wide and weighs 249g/8ozt.
Condition is excellent with no damage, dents or repairs and surface wear is very light.
