A very nice large Bow porcelain plate in the "Golfer and Caddy" pattern, c.1758, depicting a Chinese figure holding a sceptre followed by a young boy carrying scrolls. Set against a chinoiserie background of tussocks, willows and with a prunus branch in the foreground. The edge is painted with a double banded wavy blue border.
Marked with number 12 to the reverse.
It measures 25.7cm (10 1/8") wide and 2.5cm (1") deep.
Condition is very good: there are 3 short fine hairlines to the rim which have been stabilised and a small, professionally restored section of rim and a couple of tiny glaze frits. Surface wear is very light.
