Very stylish and unusual early George V small mahogany and silver mounted card tray / coaster with satinwood inlay decoration to the centre. Oval base with flared silver sides in a navette shape rising to points at either end. Pretty engraved decorative frieze runs around the inside, leaving the outside plain save a small monogram to one side and reeded rim.
Chester hallmarked for 1912 with maker's mark for fine quality silversmiths George Nathan & Ridley Hayes. Perfect for jewellery or as a desk tidy, a very practical and stylish piece.
It measures 1 3/4" high, 7 5/8" long and 4 3/8" wide.
Condition is very good: there are a few light surface marks to the wood and just light surface wear to the silver appropriate for age and use.
