Fabulous cranberry overlaid cut glass biscuit jar with sterling silver mounts and lid by William Hutton & Sons. The jar has a fine star cut base and fluted band around the base. The body is decorated with grape vines and flowers. The silver mounts are a very fine gauge as you would expect and of stylish form with the grooved swing handle and concave stepped lid with spherical knop.
Hallmarked (rim, handle and mid) for Sheffield 1922.
It measures 9 1/2" high to the handle, 6" to the top of the jar rim and 5 1/2" wide.
Condition is very good with just light surface wear to the silver and a little rubbing to the cranberry overlay just under the rim. There is a small crest engraved to the lid.
