George V Silver Table Bread Basket Alexander Clark & Co.

Very attractive George V silver swing handled table basket for bread or fruit. Shaped oval form with crimping around the rim and fine pierced decoration around the sides of flowers and vines. The handle is formed with 2 shaped round bars separated with silver spheres, tapering down to the hinges. Set of 4 cast ball feet.

Hallmarked for Sheffield 1920, maker Alexander Clark & Co. Ltd.

It measures 12 1/2" long, 8 1/2" wide and 8" high with the handle up, 2 5/8" high to the rim. It weighs 461g/14.8ozt.

Condition is excellent with no damage or repairs and very light surface wear.
