Lovely late 18th century oval creamware chestnut basket with lattice work to the lower half with incised detail to replicate a woven effect. Scalloped rim with dark brown edging and a pretty green border inside and out. The centre has a nicely painted picture of a speedwell flower. Simple applied handles at either end painted with brown to resemble twigs and the whole piece outlined further with dark brown.
It measures 9" long, 6 1/2" wide and 2 7/8" high.
Condition is very good with no damage or restoration and very light surface wear for this type of enamelling.
