A stunning large mid 18th century Derby leaf shape dessert dish with moulded detail and painted in polychrome enamels of fruit and nuts gathered along the veins of the leaves painted in puce. Moths are daintily painted dotted about. The edge of the moulded leaf shape is picked out in green and lemon and the ribbed scallop edging is also in lemon yellow with a brown rim.

It measures 28.2cm (11 1/8") long, 22.3cm (8 3/4") wide and 7.3 (2 7/8") high.

Condition is excellent with no damage or restoration. Surface wear is light for age and use including some light fritting to the glaze at a couple of points on the rim and a small glaze loss underneath close to one edge (possibly original). There is a small underglaze factory fault to the foot rim I mention for completeness.
